Most modern computers comes with a built-in soundcard but to get a better sound quality and better latency you should invest in a external audio interface. You can get audio interfaces with several outputs so you can route individual sounds to the different channels on your live board. Lately I have been using the new UR28m from Steinberg, which I can highly recommend. It has amazing preamps and great sounding converters. 6 seperate outputs, built in reverb and various front panel controls for headphone mixes.
